A busy day at Carnegie Library

Wednesday 28th April was a busy day at Carnegie Library when Newton Primary brought down all their pupils for class visits.  Over 140 children visited the Children’s Library for story sessions, quizzes and to look at the books on offer.  Some of the children worked on their own projects using the library resources.  Aileen, Doris, Lynn and Suzanne had great fun chatting with the children and introducing them to the library.

Meanwhile Renee, from the Children’s Library, was out at Monkton Primary where she read stories and did a library introduction to all the classes.  She also had the opportunity to speak to the parents of the nursery children about the importance of reading to their child and about Bookstart.

If you are a class teacher and are interested in bringing your class to the library, or getting a visit from a librarian, contact Renee on 01292 272232 or e-mail: Renee.Gillan@south-ayrshire.gov.uk
