Library eBook service hits over 5000 downloads

Download audiobooks, eBooks and more on your computer, cell phone, iPod®, or eBook reader from your local library.

Friday 1st July was the 1st anniversary of  South Ayrshire Libraries very successful eBook service.  The first eBook service launched in Scotland, it has proved a hit with borrowers of all ages as an alternative and convenient way to enjoy their favourite reads with 5,029 downloaded titles so far.

This free service is available to anyone who lives or works in South Ayrshire, is easy to use and available 24/7.  Borrowers simply browse or search our eRead website for books and can download up to 4 titles at a time. If a book is checked out, you can put it in your “wish list” and you will be emailed when it comes available. Items are automatically returned after the 7 days, 14 days, or 21 days loan period you have chosen so there are no late fees.

    Yeh… Get with it Amazon. Keeping all your customers to yourself….How selfish

    Glad I opted out of the kindle..They look and feel a bit cheap anyways

    My Kindle is full of books bought from other suppliers, out-of-copyright books, and technical documents. Getting library books too will be the icing on the cake. 🙂
