Harry Potter Chatterbooks Night at Symington Library

Everyone arrived at Symington Hogwarts after receiving their invites via Owl mail. After being sorted into houses by ‘The Sorting Hat’, the new wizards had to find five facts about their house to earn some points.

Next up was a visit to Ollivanders (the wand shop) where everyone made their own wand to win more points. This was followed by a game of Petrified Potters (musical statues to Harry Potter music) where everyone showed off their fancy wand manoeuvres.

It was time for a much-needed break, and the group scoffed jelly filled witch hats, chocolate wands and frog dropping cookies eeewww!

The night finished with a Diagon Alley Treasure Hunt, before final scores were totted up and medals awarded to the winning house (Hufflepuff). There were certificates and chocolate wizard coins for all before checking out some Harry Potter books to read at home.

If you know any children age 8-11 years who would be interested in joining Symington Library’s Chatterbooks group please telephone 01563 830066 or drop-in to the library.
