The talented photographers have all contributed wonderful photos to Jeanie’s Jotter in the past so you can be sure that this ‘first-of-a-kind’ event will be of interest to all those who live in Troon.

Davie Jaffray, Billy Forrest and John Bigham are all contributing and many of the photos haven’t been published before.  There will also be a selection of photographs of ‘Troon Then and Now’ by Ian Goldie and Frank McKee will have his extensive collection of Troon postcards on display.

Alex Boyd Photography Exhibition at Carnegie Library

Alex Boyd (born July 15, 1984 in Celle) is a German-Scottish photographer based in Irvine on the West Coast of Scotland, and educated at the University of Glasgow.

His photographic interests are wide ranging, however landscape work and conceptual photography can be considered his main photographic concerns.

The exhibition on display at Carnegie library “Sonnets from Scotland” is an exploration of Scottish landscapes and their depiction. The work has been shown across Europe, including 84 metre high projections on the Romanian Parliament in Bucharest, Europe’s largest building as part of the Urban Art Festival in September 2008.

“Sonnets from Scotland” is on display in the reference department of Carnegie Library until the 8th of October 2010.
