Readers’ Day at Carnegie Library Sunday 26th September

A great day out for those who enjoy books and reading.

There will be competitions, lunch, prizes, cream teas, a book stall,
and special guests

Sunday 26th September
10.30am – 5pm

£10.00 for full day including lunch and cream tea
(£3.00 for morning no lunch)

£5.00 for half day (1.15pm onwards) including cream tea

Our Special Guests for the day are;

10.45am Aline Templeton, Scottish Crime Novelist – Aline has written nine crime novels including a series set in Galloway featuring Di Marjory Fleming , the first of which ‘Cold in the Earth’ was an ‘Ottakers’ crime novel of the month and an ‘Independent’ best summer read.

11.30am Jim Brown, eBook publisher – e Publishing is a hugely growing area which is changing the face of the book trade. As well as talking about  this new trend, Jim will have e Readers to demonstrate and for you to try.

1.30pm Janet Paisley – Janet’s writing ranges from contemporary to historical.  Her latest novel ‘Warrior Daughter’ is set on the Isle of Skye 2000 years ago.  It is both an adventure story and a lesson in  Iron Age social history.

2.30pm Dr Tom Smith During the course of his medical career, Dr Smith  has been a GP, published health books and written several bestsellers including ‘A Seaside Practice’ & ‘Going Loco’.
