We have some recommended reading which may be of interest to anyone who has been caught up in the BBC drama series The White Queen. The series was of course based on Philippa Gregory’s bestselling historical novel series The Cousins’ War. We’ve included some other fiction set during the Wars of the Roses, and also some non-fiction, including The Last Days of Richard III and the fate of his DNA, the book that inspired the archaeological dig which lead to the recent discovery of Richard III’s remains in Leicester.
Gregory’s latest book, The White Princess, tells the story of Elizabeth of York who became Henry VII’s queen.
